Phoenix Area Home Buying Tips

Thinking about buying a home?  Did you know that often people will begin a year in advance?  Whether you just started thinking about purchasing a home or will not be buying until next year, below are some tips that will help.

1.  Make the decision. –Whether now or next year if you don’t commit, the thought of owning a home will probably remain just that…a thought.

2.  Meet with a lender. — A lender will be needed in the process (unless you have the cash) and they will be able to let you know, what you can qualify for and if there are any credit issues to be resolved etc.  In Arizona you will also need a pre-qualification letter when you submit an offer and they will provide that.  If you do not have a lender we have one that can contact you.

3.  Set a price range — The lender will let you know how much you can qualify for, you need to decide how much you want to spend.  Unlike the shows on T.V. I am going to show you homes within the price range you want to be in.  You are in control and you determine this not me.

4.  Determine the area you want to live in. — Looking at homes in Surprise and Queen Creek is probably going to wear us both out, goals need to be specific and if buying a home is a goal be as specific as possible.

5.  Determine features you want in your home. — Make a list of “must have” and a list of “it would be nice to have” features.  We will set up a custom MLS search that will show us only homes that have these features.

6.  Prepare yourself. –Although rewarding in the end the home buying process at times is not always an easy one.  Fortunately The Joshua Smith Real Estate Group has helped put thousands of buyers just like yourself in homes.  We have the experience and expertise that can help the home buying process process be smooth, rewarding and satisfying.

7.  Give us a call. –  Yes there is more I could add to this but these items will help you get started.  Give me (Shayne) a call at 623-853-6644.  We can set up a buyer consultation, sit down and review your needs, answer any questions and let you know what to expect along the way.
